Husband and wife team Romeo and Vero Mujinga, who have been in the vegan meat business for the last couple of years, opened their first restaurant in Woodstock in August. From pizza and pasta to burgers, boerewors and chops, the Vegan Butcherie offers a delicious and healthy variety of vegan meat alternatives. It’s comfort food even the most ardent meat lovers will enjoy.

Their vegan meat is made from mushrooms, soya, gluten-free flour and a variety of aromatic spices and their aim is to create tasty plant-based takeaways for those who enjoy the texture and taste of meat but without the cruelty. Vegan Butcherie’s products are popular among Cape Town’s vegan community, and they supply vegan restaurants and grocery stores all across the country.
