The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway is back in action, with some exciting changes. The kids can go wild with the brand new Class in the Clouds programme and you can celebrate Tourism Month with the Cableway’s Comeback Special. Plus, you can still redeem your free ride if you had a lockdown birthday, and stand a chance to win free rides for a year.
GET DAILY RIDES ON THE CABLEWAY
Table Mountain Aerial Cableway offers a full year of unlimited visits with their Cable Card (limited to one ride per day). Instead of paying the R200 once-off one-way fee, buy the card for R800 (or R400, for kids under 17), and ride the Cableway as many days as you like for the year. The card also gets you discounts at the Cableway's gift shop.
SAVE WHEN YOU BUY TICKETS ONLINE
You get a 10% discount when you buy Table Mountain Aerial Cableway online, which can be scanned your tickets directly from your phone. This means you can walk straight past the ticket office and board the cable car without having to wait or handle cash and cards. The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway famous birthday special is back with the reopening, and there’s good news for anyone who’s celebrated a birthday during lockdown.You can still claim your free ride on the Cableway for the entire month ofSeptember. All you'll need is your South African birth certificate or ID.
CALLING ALL YOUNG NATURE LOVERS
Your kids can swap out a day in the classroom for a day in the sun with Table Mountain Aerial Cableway's Class in the Clouds programme. They’ll learn all about Table Mountain’s flora and fauna. With over 1,500 different plant species, 22 snake species and the rare and endangered Table Mountain Ghost Frog, there is a lot to discover. The programme is open to primary school and high school students for R45 per learner. To book your day in the clouds, email cic@tablemountain.net.
A BRAND NEW COMEBACK SPECIAL
Hiker's you can now rest your tired legs on the way down. Next time you purchase one full day ticket for R360, Table Mountain Aerial Cableway will give you two return tickets for free. "As our way of celebrating our freedom to move, explore and celebrate Tourism Month, this special offer will be available for the month of September to all visitors," says cableway managing director Wahida Parker. You can get your tickets at your nearest Pick n Pay or online via tablemountain.net.
IT’S COVID-19 APPROVED
All the necessary Covid-19 protocols for the health and safety of the Cableway's visitors are set. There are hand sanitising stations at the exit and entrance of the Upper and Lower Cableway Stations as well as inside the cable car. No more than 26 people will be allowed in the car at one time, and all passengers must wear a mask. The windows of the car have also been removed to improve ventilation, and each car will undergo a daily deep cleaning.
