If you’re looking for an exciting off-road adventure that’s fun for the whole family, then this is for you. Every Sunday Scootours® invites junior passengers (aged between 4 and 9 years) to ride along for free with a designated, paying adult.
EXCITING NEW ROUTES TO EXPERIENCE
Scootours have added Knysna and a trek through the mountains in Stellenbosch to their list of new routes. Not to mention that you can now book a number of cool and adventurous activities through Scootours: from paragliding and abseiling to kayaking and swimming with seals off the coast.
ABOUT THE SCOOTERS
Designed in Switzerland, these eco-friendly non-motorised scooters are the first of their kind in the country – and they are a blast! Two wide wheels and a compact frame ensures the scooter is both sturdy and incredibly easy to control.
ABOUT THE TOURS
The Monster Mountain Scootour takes you on a downhill tour through the indigenous forests of the Garden Route National Park near Knysna to experience SA’s last true remaining forests. Or explore the Jonkershoek mountains in Stellenbosch, freewheeling on downhills and taking in the incredible views of the rugged mountain terrain.
The Cape Town tour takes riders from the foot of Table Mountain down Signal Hill and through the Bo-Kaap. From there they are transported to their next starting site, Deadman’s Tree climbs on Table Mountain, and then ride through Van Riebeeck Park.
In Franschhoek, the Adventure Tour takes riders on a two-hour trip along the historic Holloway Pass to end at Haute Cabrière Cellar Restaurant. The Family Tour is mostly freewheeling down gentle slopes on wine farms in the region for 90 minutes. Children aged 10 years and older can ride by themselves but children younger MUST be accompanied by an adult and ride as a passenger.
BOOKING FOR SCOOTOURS JUNIORS RIDE FREE ON SUNDAY SPECIAL
Rider tickets cost R550/p to R450/p at the different locations, while junior passenger ordinarily pay R270/p to R250/p. On Sundays, kids between 4 and 9 years old ride free with an adult passenger.
Operating Hours: Tuesday – Sunday: Cape Town: 9 am – 5 pm. Franschhoek: 9 am – 3:30 pm (5:30 pm during summer months)
