Quicker services and courtesy cars for essential workers

Barons Cape Town VW is doing everything it can to keep our busiest workforce, essential workers, mobile during the crisis. That includes loaning them a courtesy car for free while their car is being serviced.

“Doctors and nurses should not have to wait when they can be saving a life,” says Kevin Pillay, dealer principal of Barons Cape Town VW.

COVID-19 COMPLIANT, QUICK & EFFICIENT
The dealership is based at the V&A Waterfront and is open again from 8:30am until 5.30pm. It is Covid-19 compliant, as stipulated in the government gazette. That means they are open to the public for routine services and repairs necessary for safety and car roadworthiness.

Your car has to be due in for a service according to the manufacturing standards and requirements. You can also take your vehicle for emergency repairs, such as the car being inoperable or a warning light on your dashboard lighting up.

SERVICE CENTRE IS OPEN MONDAY TO SATURDAY
During lockdown, Barons Cape Town VW is focused on giving as efficient and hassle-free a service as possible, especially to essential workers. “We can service the car in 30 minutes; sometimes we can do it in 20 minutes,” says Kevin. The dealership has made courtesy cars available should a customer need one. “We offer that privilege especially to doctors and nurses,” he adds, meaning they give first preference to essential workers.

The Barons Cape Town VW service centre is also open on a Saturday, to give flexibility to customers, many of whom struggle to find the time to service their car during weekday working hours. “We want to service your car, not waste your money – or time,” says Kevin.

SAFETY SEAL FOR YOUR CAR AND SANITIZED KEYS
The safety standards are also compliant with the gazette, which means customers enter the dealership under strict hygiene and social distancing conditions. Customers get a temperature test and there are sanitisation stations.

Technicians work on your car wearing PPE (personal protective equipment) and the steering wheel and seats are covered. At pick up, your car door will have a seal that only you should break, which indicates that a bio-fogger has been used to sanitise your car. Car keys are sanitised too.
