No drama, just shawarmas (and falafels) at Nish Nush
Nish Nush is a little hole-in-the-wall in Bree Street, hidden in one of the tucks of Bree Street, and it’s a huge hit thanks to its delicious falafels and shawarmas. It opened in March this year by its self-described “inimitable falafel king” (and owner) Ofer Hollinger.

Nish Nush brings the taste of the Middle East to Bree Street, with its explosive and authentic Middle Eastern street food flavours. Another plus, everything is made from scratch, from the freshly baked pita bread to the hummus, falafels and zhoug sauce (a Yemeni-inspired sauce made with coriander and chilli).
It’s the falafels and hummus are what put Nish Nush on the map; the goodness of the medium-sized, crunchy, oval-shaped balls packed with flavour and topped with a creamy and tangy sauce.
“You won’t find any tinned chickpeas here!” adds Hollinger

The restaurant creates a well-rounded Middle Eastern food experience for its customers, from the Middle Eastern playlist to its informal, casual atmosphere. You can grab a stool, sit and watch the world go by as you enjoy your meal.
“We think the best places to eat street food around the world are places that can be described in this way; kinda hidden, but once you find them you keep coming back,” said Hollinger.

You can also get your fix of falafels and shawarmas from Nish Nush’s stall at the Neighbourgoods Market at the Old Biscuit Mill every Saturday from 9am to 3pm.
Good to know: Nish Nush is launching new side dishes and new desserts soon.
