Grab your mates and enjoy a few beers while cheering on your favourite team at these top spots to watch the rugby.

With all the local and international tournaments that are underway (or due to start soon), there are plenty of opportunities for you to try out some of Cape Town’s best places to watch the games. The following bars and pubs are perfect for viewing sport. If you're wondering when your favourite teams are tackling each other, make sure you also consult our Super Rugby and Currie Cup schedules.

CHEER ON YOUR FAVOURITE TEAM AT THIS WATERFRONT HOTEL
Rejoicing when your team scores a try just isn’t the same if you don’t have friends to celebrate with. You can find that kind of community at Tobago’s in the Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront. They have a range of drink and food specials on Fridays and Saturdays which include a Jack Black draught beer 500ml for R45 which is served all day, or 300ml Jack Black draught beer and a gourmet boerewors roll with chakalaka sauce for R99. BEER, BRUS AND THE MAN CAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE CITY
If you enjoy watching the game with friends, but not the crowds, then you’ll love the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice by Marriott’s private “Man Cave” experience. This stylish cave comes equipped with a 55” screen and includes a hot snack and bottomless draught beers served by a personal waiter. And when you’re done, you can always join the rest of the sports lovers at the bar downstairs. The Man Cave accommodates up to 12 guests and can be booked for any occasion that calls for some man time. Which is any time really.

Mavericks Revue Bar
Mavericks will be open for all the South African matches, as well as the quarter-, semi-finals and finals. There will be two massive front-projecting screens on the main floor and another large wide screen in the VIP area. The smaller screens throughout the club will also be showing the games. Book your seat in TheStands, a box or the Presidential Suite for the ultimate in Rugby World Cup viewing and entertainment (starting from R250p/p). Protea Hotel Fire & Ice!
Watch the big game with your mates in one of the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice’s Man Caves – a private venue with a 55” screen, which includes a hot snack and bottomless draught beers served by a personal waiter. The Man Cave can accommodate 12 guests. The hotel is offering a transfer to anywhere in the CBD after the game. Otherwise enjoy the electrifying action in the bar downstairs.

Shimmy Beach Club
This luxury lifestyle destination is ideally located, with a fine dining restaurant, whisky and vodka tasting rooms, two bars and a massive deck with an infinity pool and private beach. This place is paradise. They have a Rugby World Cup special where, on designated rugby match days, an array of entertainment, games and competitions will take place. Café Caprice
Settle in and catch all the games live on five HD screens around the venue. Café Caprice will have 2-for-1 Castle Lite beer specials and in-house betting during the tournament. They will also be giving away loads of prizes, including tickets to the 7's Rugby Tournament in Cape Town at the end of the year, adrenaline adventures along the Atlantic Seaboard, and a Matertouch Weber to boot. The Café is also braaing for the games and every week for the duration of the tournament they will have a different flame-grilled speciality.

Elephant and Barrel
The only English Pub in Franschhoek, Elephant and Barrel specialises in thirty traditional beers and features a fantastic cocktail menu. Affectionately known as “Forries”, this popular southern suburbs pub is packed with people when there’s a game on. They have an extensive menu and a fairly large outdoor area.

Tipples Bar & Grill Durbanville
This local favourite is a rugby lover’s home-away-from-home. After the first restaurant was opened in Hermanus in 2011 and received praise, Tipples branched out and opened two more branches in Onrus and Durbanville. Patrons can expect long bar tables, stylish decor and six televisions to get completely lost in the game! This high-end bar at the five-star African Pride Crystal Towers Hotel & Spa in Century City is hosting a Rugby World Cup special. Randy Warthog Bar & Grill
This bar, tucked away at the Never@Home Hostels in Green Point, will be showing all the games on a projector and a flat screen.
