Foo Fighters Concerts South Africa

‘Learn to Fly’ rockers are headed to Mzansi in December 2014!

Foo Fighters fans have long awaited news that the US post-grunge outfit will make a stop in South Africa as part of its worldwide tours, and it seems as though the rock gods have finally heard their prayers. Big Concerts has confirmed that the quintet’s headed for rainbow nation soil to put on two shows this December.

2014 FOO FIGHTERS CONCERT DATES SOUTH AFRICA

  • CAPE TOWN (Cape Town Stadium): Wednesday, 10 December 2014
  • JOHANNESBURG (FNB Stadium): Saturday, 13 December 2014

Established by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl after Kurt Cobain’s untimely demise and the dissolution of the grunge band, Foo Fighters evolved from a half-hearted one-man project to one of the most prolific post-grunge rock acts of the 90s.

With seven studio albums released and an eighth on the way, the group has raked in a number of nominations and awards during their 20-year career. Most recently, they took home four 2012 Grammy Awards related to their 2011 album, Wasting Light – a pretty impressive achievement for a band that started way back before the turn of the millennium.

Needless to say, a first-time Foo Fighters appearance in South Africa is a not-to-be-missed event. What’s more, English indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs and Jozi-based South African rockers BLK JKS will open for the US outfit.
