Korean macarons, Japanese cheesecakes, Taiwanese canned coffee + more
Last updated: Wednesday, 13 April 2022
There’s a new kid on the block in De Waterkant, a destination for all our sweet-toothed friends. This café embodies all the best of the 3 D’s: drinks, decor and desserts. With Asian treats and a minimalist vibe, you’ll want to stay at Café Chiffon all day.

The desserts served at Café Chiffon are delightfully pretty, and they taste as good as they look. From Japanese cheesecake to Korean macarons, each sweet treat is so light and delicate it melts in your mouth. The signature dessert (a delectable chiffon cake) comes in different flavours, too. Plus, the portions are good and affordable.

Besides the stunning desserts, the café also serves a variety of warm and cold drinks. We recommend the Mr Brown canned coffee. It comes in a variety of flavours, including vanilla, caramel and macadamia.

When you walk through the quiet streets of De Waterkant, your eye will immediately spot the warm, yellow building with the large, inviting windows. Inside, Café Chiffon is decorated with soft pink chairs, lights wrapped in wicker and earthy ornaments.

Birthdays, bachelorette parties, weddings – you name it. You can order cakes from the café for any event. It specialises in vintage piping cakes and cupcakes. You can spot some baking in action in the corner of the café.
Tip: It’s best to order two weeks in advance. Image: Yu Dessert Studio (@yu.dessertstudio)
