Merseystate: Unity In The Service Of All

They have done it again. Merseystate's 2010 album is "Unity In The Service Of All". Insiders’ insight below.

Very pleased with themselves for being independent, Merseystate has more personality than could fit into one band. We're very pleased with them for being good songwriters. So we thought we'd share the love and bring you a sneak-peek into their new album, "Unity In The Service Of All".  You're the lucky ones; they're releasing the tracks online for free over a period of time. Let their easy pop rock move you, their honesty surprise you, and their enthusiasm tickle your sense of humour.

The album would best be played when you're in the mood to party and having the best time of your life, dancing free because it's a positive, high-energy album with edgy riffs and catchy vocals.

People say it sounds a bit like Foo Fighters with a touch of The Police but we really can't compare it to anything as we feel it sounds fiercely unique.

It's true that the record industry give us a lot of slack for releasing our music for free but we feel one's income should not determine whether they have access to our music or not.

We’ll be happy if people download our music from our website www.merseystate.net and share it with everyone they know, copy it, burn it, spread it.

My/Our favourite track(s) on the album is "Headlights" because it's a very up-tempo, danceable song and gets people moving.

See the music video below :

We called the album "Unity In The Service Of All" because we want to unite people with our music hence us giving it away for free, to maximize our outreach.

When we listen to our previous material, this album is far more energetic, edgy, up-tempo, less introspective, and much better to dance to and move to.

We really found writing as a whole band a challenge, but we got around it by just breaking the production process down to the three band members going into the rehearsal room and playing around with the four elements of Rock music:  Drums, Bass, Guitar and Vocals.

We couldn't have cut this record without many hours of hard work, Pro Tools and Scissors

If you we could write a dedication on the album sleeve to you, we'd write - oh wait, we can't. We're releasing the album online via our website (www.merseystate.net) for free download, but if we had to we'd say "never pay for music again!"

Would we do it again? Music is our entire life, we live it, we breathe it, and we're not qualified to do anything else, so YES.

If you enjoyed this, you may enjoy other tracks on the album, to be released from 30 September 2010, one every 8 days, so keep checking back to www.merseystate.net and you'll always have fresh music for free from us to you.
