Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games

This hit grand-scale dance production will be toe-tapping into our own city and showing at the Grand Arena at GrandWest between Tuesday, 8 and Sunday, 13 August 2017. Last seen in Cape Town in 2015, everyone’s been eagerly anticipating the show’s return. And it’s finally here!

If you’re a fan of music and dance, you’re likely familiar with the original Irish production Lord of the Dance. It took Irish dance performance to beautiful new heights and became a worldwide phenomenon. Since then Lord of the Dance has been performed hundreds of times around the world, with variations on the original keeping fans on the edge of their seats! The latest for the Lord of the Dance is Dangerous Games and it promises to be spectacular!  

Michael Flatley is the uber-talented creator, choreographer and producer – who also had a main role in the performance – behind this magical masterpiece.

Dangerous Games, like Flatley’s other productions, offer  stunning choreography, edgy movements and plenty of synchronised tap dancing that demonstrate  unique interpretation of traditional Irish dancing. Look forward to new staging, costumes and special lighting lighting, which all work together to make this show even more of a feast for the senses. Giant flat screens spanning the length of the stage will give you a closer look at the movements taking place on it. What’s more, this extravagant production will even feature world-champion acrobats and dancing robots – yes, robots!

The music as well as the choreography has been refreshed and will be an all-new composition by Gerard Fahy, though fans can rest assured that the feeling and style of the original production is still honoured.

Doors will open an hour before the show starts. There will be snacks and drinks available outside the doors before, after and during the show – it is best to bring cash for these.
