13 things we are excited about doing again in lockdown level 3

Like buying rotisserie chickens, wine, and child-free bathroom breaks

While the country is slowly starting to open up, we are still encouraged to stay at home unless absolutely necessary. But let’s face it, we’ve all been a bit deprived of our favourite things during lockdown, so here’s what you can expect to enjoy again (while staying safe) in level 3:

SIT DOWN AT A RESTAURANT
You might’ve forgotten what it’s like to enjoy a meal at your favourite eatery rather than order takeaways. Ordering in may still be the safer option, but now you have a reason to get dressed up and go out.

GO FOR A TRIM OR GET YOUR NAILS DONE
Before you head out for the first time since lockdown began, you’ll probably want to go for a pamper session. Many of us are grateful that personal care services such as hairdressers, nail parlours, body massage services and make-up technicians will be opening soon.

WATCH A MOVIE ON THE BIG SCREEN
Remember the smell of fresh popcorn as you eagerly wait for the movie to start? We’re not even sure what blockbusters will be out, but we have definitely missed the cinema experience.

HOT FOODS, LIKE ROTISSERIE CHICKEN
Now you can quickly run in and grab a hot pie from the garage or take home a supermarket rotisserie chicken for Sunday lunch.

PICK UP A BURGER FROM THE DRIVE-THROUGH
For a real outing experience, you can pop ‘round to your local takeaway joint, even if it’s just for the drive.

ENJOY A COLD ONE
Finally! I’m sure you’re excited to be able to sip on a frosty beer again or savour a glass of wine after a long workday. Plus, you don’t even have to leave the house: there are plenty of booze shops delivering.

CHILD-FREE BATHROOM BREAKS
The opening of schools means that you’ll be able to enjoy some peace and quiet around the house, especially during those loo breaks.

GET BACK TO WORK
Obviously, you should stay home if you can, but for those who weren’t able to work during level 4, we’re excited to get back to business. Plus, seeing your colleagues again will be a good change.

EXERCISE ANY TIME OF DAY
Now there’s no excuse not to get those steps in. The exercise curfew has been lifted, so you have more chances for a daily jog or walk around the block.

GO CLOTHES SHOPPING
Shopaholics rejoice! All clothing sales are allowed, and it’s the perfect time to go browse the racks for winter outfits.

COME TOGETHER TO WORSHIP
People are allowed to worship again under the same roof, but must adhere to strict hygiene protocols. Remember to wear your mask, and wash those hands.

WATCH SPORT ON TV
Non-contact sports such as cricket, golf, tennis and athletics will be allowed under level 3. Although you won’t be able to go to the game, you’ll still be able to catch some of the action on TV.

GO ON A BUSINESS TRIP
With domestic air travel for business purposes being allowed, you can give that presentation in person.
