Kids who party at Wonderdal Edutainment Centre for children, in the Stellenbosch winelands, can climb through the branches of Kora, Wonderdal’s Tree of Light, or nestle in an illuminated reading nook in the Story Cave.
In the indoor and outdoor playpark, near Durbanville, Cape Town, the northern suburbs and the winelands, they can brave the climbing wall and jungle gym in the Wildlands outside or tinker with child-safe electric boards at the Tinker Workshop. It’s a kiddies birthday party no-one will ever forget.

The kids are completely catered for, from the e-invites, decor, birthday cake and lunch to party packs and the two hours of supervised activities. All parties are accompanied by party hosts, so parents can relax and be part of the festivities or, if the kids want their own fun, parents can discover all that Hazendal Wine Estate has to offer.

When it’s time to cut the cake, parents will get an SMS to head back to the partially covered party venue in the courtyard outside Wonderdal and enjoy birthday snacks and lunch. Ticket prices range between R205 to R290 depending on the day and size of the party. Have a look online for the best prices for you when you book a birthday party at Wonderdal.

At Wonderdal, kids need to help care for the adorable Amuki characters, Zylo, Gomma, Timpa, Vuvu and Shekku, as they explore seven edu-zones. They can help the attention-grabbing Tree of Light, Kora, glow with its Amuki, Zylo, guardian of the sun. Kids can restore Kora’s energy with a hand crank at the bottom of the trunk or climb in and around the netted canopies above.

At the Tinker Workshop, no problem will go unsolved with the bright green and bubbly Amuki, Timpa. He will teach the kids everything he knows, from wind energy, child-safe electric boards and the mechanics behind a small laser gun to a technical marble maze the kids can build themselves.

Kids can get comfortable in an illuminated reading nook in the story cave with the giggly Amuki, Vuvu, guardian of air. There they will discover the Amuki characters through podcasts or Wonderdal’s 700+ books. Children can pick a natural element to learn about from the earth cave, sun cave, air cave, or even the care cave, then test their knowledge at the interactive quiz station.

Let the kids explore the intricate netted forest canopy, the tunnelling balancing socks and the daunting climbing wall in the Wildlands outside. Each activity comes with its own set of challenges kids must conquer. They will need to Tarzan their way through the forest, avoid the walls as they race through the balancing socks and shout out in victory once they reach the top of the climbing wall.
