Dinner and show with an ocean view at The Kalk Bay Theatre
Opening nights brings comedy, dance and music to the stage
This featutre is old. Instead, read about Swan Lake at the Artscape - coming July 2023.
Comedy, dance, music and outstanding live performances are what the Kalk Bay Theatre has in store for its guests – and that's just the first show. The beloved theatre is reopening in a brand new spot. Think: open roof with clear skies, delicious food and fruity cocktails, and a stunning ocean view while you watch a show at The Brass Bell restaurant.
A NEW LOCATION MEANS A NEW STAGE
The Kalk Bay Theatre's stage has come back bigger and grander than you remember. With a versatile seating area and higher ceilings, the stage can be set up in different ways. The adjustable space means more extravagant acts and dance choreography. Plus, The Brass Bell restaurant is serving up a delicious menu with food and cocktails. Pro tip: dine at the restaurant, so you get preferential seating before the show.
THEY'VE HIT THE GROUND RUNNING
Followspot Production owners Ash Searle & Vanessa Harris have a top-notch performance planned for the opening of the new Kalk Bay Theatre stage. The five-man singing group Man Band 2 will be there with a whole new set list, and their first two shows have already sold out. The boys will have you up on your feet and dancing to classic '60s rock, pop and party song covers in a matter of seconds.
SUNDAYS ARE SAVED FOR LIVE MUSIC
To support Cape Town’s music industry, every Sunday the theatre will welcome a brand new band. You can expect the indie-boho boy band Crosscurrent, a brilliant ‘60s throwback cover band called the McCully Show and Afrikaans pop-singer Leah van Niekerk to play their crowd-favourite songs.
