Rebooting dining culture, naughty Harry’s bar and Instagram winner ceiling lights
Early coffee, or work meeting? Brunch with bubbly? Fine dining lunch or beach style snacking. End of day drinks, adding some late sunshine before moving further in towards something that evolves into an evening you never want to end - or forget - at its Harry’s bar.
With its spacious set up it will provide ample social distancing during level 1 restrictions.
Expect the special stories behind the Grand Pavilion. Those anecdotes you would not want to miss. Those that normally only the best friends of Michael Townsend and his partners would know. Get them soon, in our popular (free) newsletter.

There are times in our past we - with hindsight - realise a neighbourhood changed forever - for the better. This is the case on Thursday 18 March 2021 in Cape Town’s seaside suburb of Sea Point.

Cape Town’s longest panoramic view from a restaurant looking out, and it’s overlooking the promenade. Now, what’s looking in?
“Grand Pavilion Restaurant is a fusion of Beach style and Mid Century luxury. Interior offers clean lines, gentle organic curves and a passion for different materials and shapes...”
“Luxurious and comfortable style of the pavilion brings influences of Mediterranean expression, aqua blue and earthy colour scheme...”
“Think sparkling ocean and warm, dreamy sunshine. Luxurious and comfortable style of the pavilion brings influences of Mediterranean expression, aqua blue and earthy colour scheme...”
“Exquisite blue and turquoise fish scale textured tiles along our Pavilion Bar inspired by the glistening movement of the sea and transform an ordinary wall into an exciting work of abstract art...”

The facade. The turquoise fish scale tiles of the bar. The absolutely iconic lights in Harry’s bar. The instagrammable ceilings in the restrooms. The grand dame and lady that will still get a special space somewhere. Lots of angles to make it on the list for our new “Best instagrammable spots in Cape Town”.
Sea Point’s new discovery opens 18 March. Come sip a glass of wine with us in the late sunshine.
