  • The Last Word Franschhoek

  • Mont Rochelle
    If a personal touch is something that you value highly and old-world charm is your cup of tea, look no farther than the lavish five-star rooms of Mont Rochelle, a Franschhoek hotel set on a working wine farm.   • Protea Hotel Franschhoek
    If you are seeking a hotel which exudes tranquillity and beauty, but that doesn’t significantly depreciate the contents of your wallet, look no farther than the Protea Hotel Franschhoek.   • Klein Oliphants Hoek Boutique Hotel
    This charming and intimate four-star boutique hotel is sophisticated, comfortable and rich in character. Built as a mission station in 1888, Klein Oliphants Hoek takes pride in its warm and personalised customer service, and its cosy atmosphere.   • Boschendal Wine Farm Cottages
    Boschendal estate, which sits just outside of Franschhoek and is one of the oldest wine farms in the country, has an enticing accommodation offering that features different types of self-catering cottages to suit the mood and purpose of guests’ holidays. Nature lovers who are looking for a retreat can opt for either the large Rhodes Cottage or one of the smaller Orchard Cottages, both of which are located on a part of the estate that encourages adventuring in the outdoors – think of anything from swimming in dams and trail running to trout fishing and hiking. Those wanting a food and wine-focused experience can choose from either one of the Werf Cottages (perfect for two) or the Clarence Cottage (it can accommodate four) as these lodgings are centrally located close to Boschendal’s activity hub, which is home to a restaurant, deli, wine tasting room and picnic area). All cottages have a fireplace (so they’re ideal for winter), a fully-kitted kitchen, elegant décor and comfortable bedrooms and furnishings, making them ideal bases from which to explore the Cape Winelands town.
    Top tip: Guests are able to request breakfast, lunch and dinner baskets to be brought to their respective cottage.

  • Rickety Bridge Manor House
    Set within the Rickety Bridge wine estate, an enchanting farm that overlooks sprawli vineyards and the majestic Wemmerschoek Mountains, the Manor House’s three en-suite rooms have every luxury of a four-star hotel as well as a romanticism of a time gone-by. All rooms have air-conditioning, under-floor heating, satellite television, mini bars, tea and coffee facilities, and free Wi-fi connectivity.   • Rusthof Country House
    This four-star exclusive country house is situated in the heart of Franschhoek and caters for no more than 16 guests at one time. Ideally situated in Franschhoek’s main street, you are only one minute’s walk away from the best restaurants and galleries in town.

  • Blueberry Hill Cottages
    Blueberry Hill is a small wine farm in the heart of the Franschhoek mountains, just 2km from the village centre. Two luxurious self-catering cottages afford guests exceptional mountain views and valley vistas. Both cottages have three bedrooms; two double rooms with queen size beds, and a third bedroom with a single bed. The open-plan kitchen is well-equipped, and has both an electric stove and microwave. Each cottage has a television, although the relaxed and family-orientated environment calls for long evenings spent in front of a roaring log fire or outside on the veranda sharing stories or playing cards.
    Top tip: Braai-lovers will appreciate the breathtaking views over the valley from their balconies.

  • Petit Plaisir
    Petit Plaisir offers guests a single cottage that is fully equipped, stylishly decorated and within 10-minutes walk of the village centre.   • Heidi Cottage
    This charming luxury four-star Franschhoek cottage is immaculately decorated and furnished in a Cape country style. The fully-equipped accommodation has two bedrooms, a large kitchen and a separate lounge/dining room. Also on offer is satellite television, laundry facilities and a braai area. Heidi Cottage is ideal for families, and is just a short walk from the restaurants, art galleries and shops in the town’s centre.

  • La Galliniére Guest Cottages
    La Galliniére Guest Cottages are located on a boutique vineyard, just a 15-minute walk from the town centre. The three self-catering cottages each sleep between two and four guests, and provide some of the best value-for-money accommodation in the area. Each cottage includes a well-equipped kitchen, complimentary toiletries, satellite television, quality linen and towels and complimentary tea and coffee. The three-star cottages also have an outdoor swimming pool and braai facilities.
    Top tip: Children are welcome, and kids five years and younger stay for free.

  • La Chataigne
    La Chataigne is situated on a working wine farm roughly a 10-minute drive from the Franschhoek centre, and guests can choose to stay in any one of three quaint, recently renovated cottages. This charming and wallet-friendly Franschhoek accommodation flanks the Kastange River, which runs along the border of the farm. The three-star cottages have spectacular mountain views, and they are the perfect place to relax and forget about the chaos of city life. All three cottages have en-suite bathrooms and fully-equipped kitchens, and there is a swimming pool and braai facilities. There are also terraces on both sides of each cottage, areas that lend themselves to comfortable indoor and outdoor living.
    Top tip: Take a stroll through the nearby pear orchard, and cool off in their modern swimming pool.

  • Otters Bend Backpackers Lodge
    Otter’s Bend Lodge, in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley, is the ideal, affordable country getaway for city dwellers and travellers on a strict budget. Each of the five, cosy log cabin rooms has a shower, basin and toilet en-suite with hot and cold running water. Although small and compact, the rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Bedding, pillows and towels are provided. The large, open communal room is equipped with cutlery, crockery, fridge, microwave, kettle, hot plate and kitchen utensils. There is also a huge fireplace, and there are braai facilities. Additionally, in amongst the orchards, with access to the communal area and pool, is a camping area. Camping is limited to three two-man tents.
    Top tip: Situated on the banks of the Franschhoek River, this lodge has a tranquil ambience especially appealing to nature lovers. It is almost unbelievable to think that the village is only a 15-minute walk from the Otters Bend.
