Cape Town’s aspiring young models and fashion designers will be strutting their stuff on the catwalk at the Creative Angels Fashion Show. The event aims to expose young talent to industry professionals.
This year’s event has the theme ‘The Rainbow Nation’, and takes place on Saturday, 26 October 2019.

IT’S GOING TO BE AN ENTERTAINING SHOW
Among the designers showcasing their work are MoonFyre Designs, Melos Botik, Afro Rapablik and L.J.M Designs, and each will create designs exclusively for the show. There’ll also be a dance performance by Melvin’s Dance Company with youth from Bonteheuwel, a fire performance by Fireocity, as well as music from Sibongiseni Wani and Loyiso “Luwi” Turwana. Mrs Universe South African finalist Feerouza Kruger will be a guest speaker.

THE GOAL IS TO LAUNCH YOUNG CAREERS
The Creative Angels Fashion Show, hosted by the Creative Angels Benefit, showcases young creatives and emerging talents to fashion-related industry professionals. It has had some success already: Hugo Amos who owns the fashion label Amos, as well as actor Inga Qwede, who has starred in The Wound (2017).
HOW DO THEY LAUNCH CAREERS?
Naven Rajah from Creative Angels Benefit says its various programmes and business development programmes help assist in growing youths’ dreams and talents.
“At CAFB we offer fashion model training programmes and fashion business development programmes, primarily, and host events like photoshoots and fashion shows to bring artists of multiple disciplines together for the purpose of exposing them to real-world working environments, promoting their skills and talent, and highlighting the potential of such activities to directly and positively transform the lives of at-risk youth,” says Rajah.

TICKETS TO THE CREATIVE ANGELS FASHION SHOW
Tickets cost R300pp, VIP tickets cost R600pp. VIP guests will receive a selection of South African-inspired canapes at the end. There’ll be a VIP cocktail party after the main event catered by the Slug & Lettuce at The River Club. They’ll be providing a specially curated South African menu, which will be halaal-friendly. All guests will receive a welcome drink.
