Celebrate your love on V-Day with these fine dining specials

Thanks to one of the Southern Suburb’s best hotels, all you need is love this Valentine’s Day; the Vineyard Hotel and Spa has V-Day dinner sorted with a delectable special that will have you and your significant other wined, dined and feeling the romantic vibe.

The deluxe 200-year-old property has two packages to choose from: each offers a different experience and menu. The Liesbeek River option invites lovers to tuck into a seafood feast on the beautiful banks of one of Cape Town’s oldest water features, and is priced at R445p/p. Alternatively, couples who’d like to dine inside the award-winning hotel restaurant The Square – its glass ceiling and soft lighting make for the perfect Valentine’s Day atmosphere - can do so for R315p/p.

The menu for couples dining on the banks of the Liesbeek River:

• The starter is phyllo-wrapped camembert cheese with beetroot puree, candied walnuts, roasted yellow capsicums, crispy onion and herb salad and a ponzu dressing.
• A raspberry mojito sorbet is then served to cleanse the palate before mains are served. 
• Mains are a seafood platter of grilled crayfish, grilled prawns and linefish skewer, tempura tuna and avocado makimono, steamed fresh Saldahna mussels, baby calamari and herb new potatoes.
• Dessert is a tasting plate to share, with rosewater nougat, Bailey’s ice cream, a milk chocolate slab, strawberry macaroon lollipop, pistachio marshmallow with popping candy and passion fruit jellies.

Note: Each diner will receive a complimentary glass of bubbly, the centre piece flower arrangement as well as a departure gift.

The menu for couples who prefer to sit inside The Square:

• The starter is smoked, cured Norwegian salmon and goats cheese roulade with red pepper jellies, beetroot gel and baby leaf salad.
• A raspberry mojito sorbet is then served to cleanse the palate before mains are served. 
• Mains are cranberry glazed duck breast with butternut fondant, steamed asparagus, pomegranate, and almond and grapefruit salad with spinach flakes.
• Dessert is a tasting plate to share, with rosewater nougat, Bailey’s ice cream, a milk chocolate slab, strawberry macaroon lollipop, pistachio marshmallow with popping candy and passion fruit jellies.

Note: Diners will receive a glass of bubbly on arrival, a red rose for the ladies and a little departure gift.
