Once-in-a-lifetime exhibition of Esther ...
On from February to August 2024; 100+ artworks
Get into the spirit of radical thinking and support freedom of expression Afrikaburn style at Trash Cabaret’s fundraising shindig on Friday, 18 April 2014 at the Dragon Room. The variety performance troupe is looking for a little aid in getting to South Africa’s regional Burning Man festival, and in return, it will provide an evening of circus-like razzle dazzle.
Trash Cabaret is a collection of local and international trapeze acts, aerial artists, fire dancers, burlesque babes and jugglers who do their tricks and twirls to live music. The Afrikaburn fundraiser bash will not only feature a spectacular showcase of the crew’s multiple talents, but it’s also set to be a jam of epic proportions and an opportunity for revelers to let their freak flags fly. Guests are encouraged, nay, obliged to come dressed as the character of their dreams. In other words, feel free to bring your parasols, flippers, full moon knickers and best Khaleesi outfit (because she’s everyone’s dream character right?).
By bringing artists from different disciplines and cultures together, the initiative aims to create a world where expression has no limits, and in that spirit, the troupe promises to provide a night of wonderful reckless abandon.
TICKETS FOR TRASH CABARET: AN AFRIKABURN FUNDRAISER
Tickets for Trash Cabaret’s fundraising party are available online via Quicket.co.za for R100p/p. Otherwise, they’re available at the door on the day for R100p/p (for folks who dress up) or R120p/p (for folks in ‘boring outfits’).
If you can’t make it to the gig, you can still make a donation to help get Trash Cabaret to Afrikaburn 2014. Donations can also be made online at Quicket.co.za.
The good times start at 8:30pm.
