The Art is Art Gallery in De Waterkant invites you to reimagine Cape Town’s iconic and classic heritage buildings through the quirky and brilliant illustrations of local artist Kyle Jardine until the end of July.
A NEW ARTIST FOR A NEW GALLERY
Art is Art Gallery is a relatively new kid on the creative block. However they already have prolific artists and exhibitions under their belt from Gift Mjwana and Bettie Coetzee Lambrecht, the Gallery is excited to welcome the fresh new face of illustrator Kyle Jardine with his solo exhibition series, The Heritage City.
HIS UNIQUE TAKE ON CLASSIC HERITAGE BUILDINGS
Cape Town-based artist Kyle Jardine takes inspiration from local buildings and his surroundings to create an entirely new way of seeing these structures. Through his freehand illustrations, Jardine captures each building’s unique personality and charm from Cape Dutch through to Edwardian and Victorian designs.
Any Capetonian or Mother City lover will recognise a few of his illustrations. He's re-imagined the popular restaurant and bar Tiger's Milk as well as The Power and the Glory, House of Machines and many others.
DON’T MISS THE LOCKDOWN SPECIAL
The exhibition series first began in June but has been extended till the end of July with a 25% off lockdown special. Everyone is welcome to view Jardine's latest work The Heritage City online or on-site at the Art is Art Gallery in De Waterkant.
