The Red Telephone presents Journey EDM Party

Prepare for an epic ride through a spectrum of sick sounds at The Train Lodge

Life’s not about the destination; it’s about the ride. And in that very spirit, the professional party people at The Red Telephone have put together a jam called Journey to take your senses on an epic aural expedition. The second incarnation of this fat jol, which first took place in early July, goes down from 2pm onwards at The Train Lodge in Cape Town’s city centre on Saturday, 2 August 2014.

The electronic dance music (EDM) extravaganza will take revellers through a full spectrum of sounds, from badass minimal-tech beats to face-melting deep house bass to scintillating psytrance synths. So, expect to get groovy to some funk during one leg of the expedition and then go mad for progressive trance on the next – and that’s just the tip of the party iceberg.

Along with offering up a sick-soundtracked night, the folks at The Red Telephone know how to dish up an awesome party experience, and Journey will be no different. For starters, The Train Lodge makes for the perfect venue for such a voyage: there’s ample room for jamming and there will be fireplaces and heaters to keep things cosy. Plus, there will be food on sale (vegetarian options too) and ridiculous drink specials running the entire evening to make sure dudes and dudettes are well fuelled for the dance floor.

Naturally, party people can also expect the kind of signature Red Telephone décor, audio-visuals and lighting that make the organiser’s jols all the more legendary. Not to mention, those who need a little time-out from the tunes can admire sketches, paintings and photographic artworks by local creatives.

The Journey jam has all the right ingredients necessary for a memorable, glorious good time, so saddle up for a raucous ride and don’t forget to pack your dancing shoes.

What’s more, the organisers call on party-goers to ‘play it forward’ and help the less fortunate stay warm this winter. Bring along warm clothing (think: socks, beanies, shoes and jackets) or blankets  and simply drop it in the huge crate at the entrance of the jol.
