The Pink Lunch Breast Cancer Awareness Event

Help raise funds in aid of breast cancer survivors at this ‘20s-themed get-together

Do your bit to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month and have a good time while you’re at it at the tenth annual Pink Lunch hosted by Monda PR, Publicity and Events at the Bay Hotel’s Rotunda in Camps Bay on Friday, 18 October 2013.

The increasingly popular midday meal aims to raise funds for the Reach for Recovery programme, which supplies practical and emotional support to breast cancer patients and their families, and guests can help further this cause by grabbing a seat and bidding on some auction items.  This year’s  Pink Lunch is set to be emceed by the talented and gorgeous Natalie Becker and in 2013 it celebrates its decade of doing good with a “10 Shades of Pink - Gatsby Style” theme that encourages everyone to come dressed in their 1920s flapper finest.

A few local performers, like Sterling EQ, the Waterfront Theatre Company and Charles Summerfield and the URJ, will entertain with some of their favourite tunes before Ariella Kuper hosts the bidding wars to raise some much-needed funds.

The Reach for Recovery programme was formed back in 1952 in the USA by a mastectomy patient who realised there was not enough being done to support breast cancer sufferers. The initiative was established in South Africa in 1967 and has since enabled sisters, mothers, wives and friends to make tough decisions and find motivation for recovery with the help of staff, fellow survivors, volunteers and sponsors.

So don’t be a tit, grab your seat at the table and get Gatsby glam for this good cause.
