Stargazing in Paarl - Dance of the Planets

An evening which includes a picnic and the thematic discovery of the night skies...

Stargazing enthusiasts can once again look forward to the popular summer stargazing evenings at the Taalmonument on Paarl Mountain.

The picnic starts at 18:00. Guided tours of the Monument will start at 18:30 and 19:30. From 20:00 to 22:30 visitors will be able to watch the skies through telescopes under the guidance of the Orion Observation Group (OOG) members.

Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic baskets or they can order a picnic basket from Volksmond Coffee Shop’s picnic menu. Coffee will be available from the tuck shop on the lawn.

No dogs and fires are allowed.
Safe parking is available and access is controlled.
Visitors are advised to bring along binoculars and warm clothes.

Price: R20 for adults and R10 for children

Stargazing evenings will be cancelled if the weather is bad.
