August is Women’s Month, which means that it’s the ideal opportunity for the lovely ladies out there to treat themselves to a cut-price wellness treatment with Groot Constantia, in partnership with Mangwanani Spa. Throughout the month, those seeking a 30-minute massage can wander into the spa for a head, neck and shoulder or royal foot massage, a hand treatment, manicure or acupuncture session. No bookings are necessary, and the offer is available from 10am until 4pm every weekend until Sunday, 30 August 2015.
Known for its picturesque surrounds, with verdant vineyards, paths lined with trees, crisp manicured lawns and a horizon painted with wispy mountains, Groot Constantia is one of the Constantia Wine Route’s highlights, and the oldest wine producing farm in the country. Its 330-year history includes many strong female players, the most memorable being Anna de Koningh, the slave turned lady of the manor.
Following the death of her husband Oloff Bergh in 1725, Anna inherited Groot Constantia and in doing so, became its first female owner. The former slave rose to become a free woman and an extremely influential figure in early Cape society. This Women’s Day, Groot Constantia aims to pay tribute to Anna as well as to all the other South African women who play such an integral role in making our society equal and non-sexist.
Your patronage will also give the ladies of Mangwanani Spa a chance to shine! The venue gives specialised training and certifications to rural women in order to empower them to become qualified therapists. Nominated for the Service Excellence Award for 2015, the spa has a fantastic reputation for being a place of rejuvenation and serenity.
Before or after your spa treatment, you may also want to sneak in a little chocolate and wine pairing, wine tasting or maybe a scrumptious lunch at Simons or Jonkershuise restaurants. Go on – you deserve it!
PRICES FOR THE 2015 WOMEN’S MONTH SPA TREATMENTS AT GROOT CONSTANTIA
