Celebrate the first day of 2026 in sunshine, right by the ocean at the iconic Grand Africa Café & Beach. Dancing to Layla Benitez, Airrica, GiZ, SONA and Dwson as they play immersive techno, house, jungle, and Afrobeats. Or sitting at your table, which you can book cinema-style, relaxing into the day as you watch the giant disco ball and the boats go by.

NEW YEAR'S DAY AT THE BEACH 

Sexy Groovy Love’s first event of 2026 will be at the iconic Grand Africa. The glamorous venue is on a private beach, which is accessed through a charming wooden walkway. Grand Africa is adorned with white and gold accents, white couches for lounging, and a gigantic disco ball.

It’s one of Cape Town’s most glamorous destinations for any party, perfectly positioned along the seafront, so you can soak in stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and Robben Island.

PARTY IN COMFORT

Get there early as the party starts at 2pm. If you’re still shaking off that New Year’s Eve hangover, you can book and chill at one of the many tables, order food and drinks, and soak up the sun while easing into the first day of 2026. The party ends at 2am, but everything stays classy because it’s a no under-21s event.

There will be a massive stretch tent so you’re covered for shade, plus the mezzanine area will be open and you’ll be able to see the waves rolling by.

It’s going to be one unforgettable gathering. The sections aren’t separated, so even if you’ve booked a table and some of your friends have normal tickets, you’ll be able to share the same excitement of the new year.

HOUSE, JUNGLE, TECHNO, AFRO & MORE 

For international talent, Layla Benitez is a must-see. She’s played at some of the world’s biggest events: From the Tribeca Film Festival’s official galas, to underground parties in Mykonos and Ibiza, and Miami Music Week and Art Basel. 

GiZ, known for her infectious energy and melodic jungle with bass banging roots, and Airrica, whose sound mixes pumping techno, exuberant house and gritty acid, are other international names on the line up.

One of the most exciting local artists on the lineup is SONA, whose collaboration with Drake on “Texts Go Green” shot him to #1 on the Billboard R&B producers list. He’s one of electronic music’s brightest rising stars with standout performances at Tomorrowland in Belgium, HI Ibiza, and the Brooklyn Mirage in New York. 

He’ll be joined by Dwson (a Cape Town-based producer whose style breathes new life into the deep house scene with dub sounds) and Lemonella, whose hypnotic grooves and soulful textures create dancefloor moments that feel otherworldly.

TIPS ON TICKETS & PARKING

Parking at the venue is tight, so we recommend using Uber or a shuttle service.

The earlier you buy your ticket, the cheaper it will be. Super Early Bird tickets are R890 and Early Bird tickets are R1 090. Sexy Bird tickets are priced at R1 350, and Late Bird tickets will be R1 650 each. 

You can also get tickets for less by buying a group ticket. It includes 5 tickets, with one additional free ticket, for R1 125pp. 

The table tickets let you book a table just like a movie ticket, choosing your exact seat from the layout, which has a sea deck and mezzanine level with dazzling ocean views. Table tickets are priced from R2 050. All Sexy Groovy Love NYD tickets can be booked through Howler.
