Hard-core headbangers, mental metalheads and lovers of roaring rock ‘n’ roll, we want to hear you rejoice! British band Asking Alexandria is coming to blow your socks off at a loud and live concert at Klein Libertas Outdoor Theatre in Stellenbosch on Friday, 2 May 2014 before heading to Johannesburg for a final gig the following day.
Brought to you by the folks at RAMtouring, the one-night-only show is set to feature the five-piece outfit’s awesome progressive metalcore tunes. Asking Alexandria first burst onto the metal/hard rock underground scene in 2011 with the debut album Stand up and Scream, which was an instant hit with listeners. The record’s sound uniquely blends aggressive rock with hints of European trance and catchy melodies to make for a hearing experience unlike any other, and lucky local fans will get to experience the magic first-hand.
The group’s second album, Reckless and Relentless, kept the act’s stellar momentum alive and won an Independent Music Award in 2012 for the Best Metal/Hardcore Album, while the 2013 release, From Death to Destiny, became Asking Alexandria’s highest charting record. Fans can expect to thrash out and headbang to singles like ‘Final Episode (Let’s Change the Channel)’, ‘Closure’ and ‘Run Free’, and there is no doubt that a mosh pit or two will definitely go down.
The international rockers will be supported by local act Facing the Gallows in both cities. The Joburg-bred band recently released their latest offering, Chapters, and has been touring the country infecting towns from north to south with their sick metal mash-ups.
