Blues Restaurant has reaffirmed itself as one of Cape Town’s ultimate dining experiences and is now able accommodate 245 guests inside and 70 outside.

It will be one of the Cape Town restaurants open for New Year’s Eve Dinner at the end of 2008.

The new menu at Blue Restaurant in Cape Town has kept a fine balance between old and new, but still retains the basics of simplicity, authenticity and freshness.

Menu items such as Thai Style Calamari Salad on crunchy oriental greens and Pan Seared Ostrich Teriyaki with a smear of wasabi and drizzled with sake and soya lend subtle hints to Asian cuisine.

New Year’s Eve at Blues Restaurant will allow you to experience the sunset on a glorious skyline while you sip on a delicious cocktail, enjoy a 5-course gourmet meal and enjoy the balloon drop at midnight while you sip on your complimentary champagne to celebrate the forthcoming year.

New Year’s Eve dinner menu at Blue Restaurant for 2008/2009:

Canapes: Petit prawn cakes, Butternut cappuccino and Asparagus, parma ham and parmesan puffs.

Starters: Chicken liver Paté with marinated peppers OR Seared Scallops with prawn butter and asparagus salad OR Venison carpaccio with red wine and balsamic reduction caprese salad.

Main Course: Grilled ostrich with truffled potatoes and roasted figs OR Prosciutto wrapped in beef fillet with sweet potato puree and red wine onions OR Herb and spice encrusted Tuna with red pepper oil and marinated eggplant salad OR Butternut and Spinach Tortellini with Quattro formaggio stuffed zucchini flowers and caramelized pears.

Desserts: Summer berry mille feuille OR Trio of light and dark chocolate mousse OR Citrus and semi-freddo lavender shortbread OR a Selection of cheese with fruit.
