Let the world be treated to the first solo album by CODA's Carol Thorns - Fireflies in the Rain

South Africa’s leading electric cellist Carol Thorns is launching her debut album on the 29th October 2009 at what is set to be a magical event in Cape Town.

Well known for founding bands Muse SQ, Sterling and CODA, Carol has created something a little other-worldly.

‘Fireflies in the Rain’ is an introspective and soulful exploration of different musical landscapes.

Capturing the elegance of performer and instrument in a fresh and original way, this groundbreaking album incorporates aspects of World Music and Ambient Electronica, but still retains the richness of the cello's classical origins.

The launch party will feature VJ Digital Lama and composer / producer Helmut Meijer.

Tickets are R50 or R100 (including a copy of the album) and will be available from Liquorice and Lime (top of Kloof Street in Cape Town).
