Cape Philharmonic Orchestra's Oratorio Festival 2009

The Cape Philharmonic Orchestra is arguably the most versatile and active orchestra on the continent of Africa


The Cape Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO) is proud to be South Africa's "orchestra for all seasons" - a financially and culturally sustainable, multi-functional orchestra delivering a world class musical experience to all communities of the Western Cape.

The last concert of the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra’s Oratorio Festival 2009 is again conducted by Arjan Tien. Rossini’s Stabat Mater is preceded by Schubert’s Symphony No. 4 (the “Tragic”).

The choir is the Philharmonia Choir of Cape Town and the soloists are Deirdre Adriaanse (soprano), Willem Bester (tenor) and Patrick Tikolo (bass).
