6 immersive themes, one being the best in Africa
Undoubtedly one of the Cape Town’s hidden gems and a member of the Mother City’s ‘prettiest secret gardens’ club, Springfield Convent is the ideal spot to while away an evening whilst listening to exceptional music. The Concert in the Convent is taking place on Sunday, 31 January 2016, and will feature some of the city’s top vocal talent in a serene setting.
The concert will be an outdoor picnic on the lawns so guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets to spread out on the sprawling grass. There will be a smorgasbord of scrumptious food on offer, along with various vintages from the Opera Café, so you’ll have nibbles to choose from for your picnic.
Wine, dine and unwind in the gorgeous gardens while listening to the angelic harmony of Violina Anguelov, Riaan Hunter, Ifriki Tadadjeu and Lynelle Kenned’s voices. The lead vocalists will be accompanied by musicians Peter and Suzanne Martens, along with the Stellenbosch University Camerata, with Albert Combrink directing the performance.
Gates open at 3:30pm and the school’s talented marimba band and a Scottish piper will be on hand to keep guests entertained until the concert begins. There will also be a cute kid’s corner where magicians will keep little ones spellbound.
