CHILL ON A LONG STREET BALCONY WITH PIZZA + BEER

Cold beer, an impressive cocktail menu, gourmet pizza, a relaxed vibe and a 180-degree view of the goings-on on Long Street below – these are just a few of the things that make SGT Pepper’s balcony the ideal spot for chilled after-work drinks or relaxing with friends. 

They’re best known for their pizza – we recommend Little Miss Sunshine, The Colonel and Tannie Tandoori – but the menu at SGT Pepper is big. There are 7 music-inspired burgers to choose from and the bar snacks go great with beer, especially the jalapeno poppers, which have some serious bite. The peppadew poppers are a nice local twist on the classic, and less fiery.

GET COSY WITH ART + PLAY FOOSBALL

If indoor chilling is more your thing, there’s plenty going on inside SGT Pepper’s too. Don’t miss the Tabasco bottle chandelier and the wall art – like the stencil artwork created by the SGT Pepper team, and the rock legend posters. There are two bars inside (one is non-smoking) and a foosball table.

WATCH LIVE SPORT 

This Long Street gem is loved by locals and sports enthusiasts alike. Catch whatever major sports action is currently happening on a large projector inside, or watch on one of three other TVs – there are two on the balcony and one in the smaller smoking bar inside, so you’ll get to see the game from wherever you are.

LISTEN TO LIVE MUSIC EVERY THURSDAY

SGT Pepper used to be all about rock n roll – and there are still rock tributes throughout the place – but they’ve expanded their live music offering so you now can listen (and dance) to everything from deep house to techno to Afro grooves. Listen to local bands and artists play live every Thursday.

ENJOY 3-HOUR HAPPY HOUR EVERY DAY

Yep, every day from 5 to 8pm – and all day on Saturday and Sunday – cocktails are half price at SGT Pepper. Plus there are plenty of other drink specials (like 4 Jagermeister shots for R90) and discounts on buckets of beer and cider.

THROW A BIRTHDAY OR YEAR-END PARTY

SGT Pepper is laid-back, but with a rock n roll edge that’s bound to get any party started. Plus, their bar snacks and bites make for big party platters. The buzz of Long Street below makes your party extra vibey. Bonus: if you have your party on a Monday, SGT Pepper will let you host up to 150 people for free. MEET STUDENTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD

Wednesday nights are Student Nights at SGT Pepper, and foreign students are invited too. For R149, it’s all-you-can-eat-and-drink from 7-9pm. After that, there are drinks specials from 10pm, plus beer pong and live DJs all evening.

JOIN NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATIONS 

If chilled local vibes are your thing, SGT Pepper is the perfect destination for you to celebrate the year that was. It might be a relaxed venue, but come New Year’s Eve, the place is a party. Plus there’ll be plenty of action on Long Street below to add to the vibe.
