Ajax Cape Town will kick off their campaign when they host Lamontville Golden Arrows on Saturday 8.15pm, 19 August 2017 at Cape Town Stadium.
The Urban Warriors had a rocky start to their 2016/2017 season, dropping 13 points out of a possible 15 in the opening five games. The team found themselves in the relegation zone numerous times but their never-say-die attitude kept them in top flight football. This year the team looks to compete for the league title from the first blow of the whistle. Head Coach Stanley Menzo will start the season fresh with Ajax Cape Town, having taken over from Roger de Sá midway through last season.
Ajax Cape Town has faced Golden Arrows on 27 occasions and came out on top in 10 of these matches. The last time these two teams played each other, the match ended in a stalemate.
