A Morning for Wine Lovers at Under Oaks
Enjoy a Saturday morning appreciating wine in a stunning setting
If you love wine and Saturday mornings (and who doesn’t?) the Wine Appreciation Mornings at Under Oaks is where you want to be on selected Saturdays in 2018.
Under Oaks is a picturesque wine estate situated in the Paarl Winelands where giant oak trees provide the perfect backdrop for a morning of wine tasting and appreciation. At a Wine Appreciation Morning, an aptly titled Wine Advisor will share the story behind the wines, including the history and character of the various grape varieties, and guide you through the tasting process. It’s about putting into practice the age-old wisdom that the more you know, the better it gets.
Grapes at Under Oaks are handpicked and made into award-winning wine under the watchful eye of winemaker Bertus Fourie who has been with the estate since 2002.
Under Oaks pride themselves on their down-to-earth approach to wine tasting so don’t expect any pretentious ‘quaffing’ or heavy wine terminology doing the rounds. The event really is an opportunity to let your hair down on a Saturday morning and enjoy everything the spectacular wine estate has to offer.
In the words of one of the owners Theresa Britz: “Our visitors become friends and return to Under Oaks as often as they can. But don’t take that from us – come and experience it for yourself.”
The Under Oaks Wine Appreciation Mornings are presented on selected Saturdays from 11am to 12pm in their Private Cellar. Space is limited to 20 guests. The price is R150 per person. Pre-booked and pre-paid.
