4 freewheeling routes you can book through Scootours

Scootours is perfect for teambuilding, birthday parties, or a day out with friends

Last updated: Monday, 25 July 2022

Race through a bush tunnel on a Monster Mountain Scooter; scoot past wild eland, ostrich and wildebeest on a wine farm; or take on two off-road tracks, from Signal Hill to the colourful Bo-Kaap, and down Table Mountain. The monster scooters are non-electric (making them eco-friendly), easy to steer, and offer a unique way to get out into nature.

It’s family-friendly and great for kids’ birthday parties or team building. Image: Scootours

Scootours’ has a 45-minute, action-packed Flow Trail at Middelvlei Wine Farm in Stellenbosch, and it’s an adrenaline rush complete with meandering berms, a bush tunnel and bumpy rollers. It’s 850m of pure dirt-road rush that you speed through twice – don’t worry, you’re allowed a few practise runs to help you get the hang of it.

Afterwards, adults get a complimentary glass of wine and the kids, cool drink. You can extend your visit and book an archery session or a braai lunch with all the trimmings, such as chops, boerewors, braaibroodjies, Ouma Annie's pumpkin fritters and other South African favourites.

The first one is a 5km jeep track that runs down the side of Signal Hill and takes you all the way to the colourful Bo-Kaap, and on the way you’ll have gorgeous views of Table Mountain, the city centre, Cape Town harbour and mosques in the Bo-Kaap.

Riders are shuttled to Signal Hill and back to Table Mountain from Bo-Kaap. Image: Scootours
