Pause & Effect – TEDxCapeTown Main Event

Listen to local thought leaders discuss how every single action causes shifts in energy and power and how this impacts the rate of change in society

The renowned TEDx talks have altered the way we view the world, using thought leaders to deliver talks redefining thinking and creating debate on a global scale. Pause & Effect, the TEDxCapeTown Main Event continues that tradition at Avenue Cape Town, 40 Dock Road, V&A Waterfront on Saturday 17 November 2018.

PAUSE & EFFECT
Charles Darwin and John Dewey once expressed "It’s not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the most responsive to change; we don’t learn through experience, but rather through reflecting on experiences."

This inspired the theme for the 2018 TEDxCapeTown Main Event, Pause & Effect.

Global socio-economic movements such as #MeToo, #BlackLivesMatter, #FeesMustFall, etc. emphasise that every single action causes shifts in energy and power. This directly impacts the rate of change in our society.

There’s also power in pausing and considering before taking action and in realising that we have choices regarding why and how we develop. The result of pausing is often a more mindful approach to what happens after.

AN EVENT FOR ALL
Design thinkers, artists, activists, people managers, youth development workers, techpreneurs, mompreneurs, financial planners, all ages and all levels of experience from all walks of life are invited to attend.
