Sunday Edition Presents: Petite Noir and Bongeziwe Mabandla
Music, design and culture all fuse at this unique musical market
Everybody knows the Neighbourgoods Market at the Old Biscuit Mill; it’s where you go if you want delicious food and to be surrounded by well dressed people drinking before 12pm (which on a Saturday is pretty much exactly what we all want to do). On Sunday, 21 May 2017 the Neighbourgoods Market, in collaboration with the Sunday Edition, present Petite Noir and Bongeziwe Mabandla.
This event will see the music from these very talented individuals fused with other local artists. The music scene in Cape Town is incredibly diverse; you can find every genre under the sun performed by plenty of talented musicians. Petite Noir and Bongeziwe Mabandla will be sharing the stage with other supporting acts who are signed under Roastin’ Records. The independant record label has a varied portfolio of artists who fuse together hip hop, techno, funk, disco and dance.
The food, as per usual, will be nothing short of delicious; with the normal vendors of the Neighbourgoods Market providing the same culinary experience the weekly market is used to. The creators of fine Italian style pizza, Pizza Piaggio, will be there to delight your stomachs with the taste of bella Italia, as will The Barrel BBQ; excite with succulent meat joints and all the trimmings.
The two headliners of the evening are Petite Noir and Bongeziwe Mabandla.
Petite Noir hails from the Congo and he specialises in art pop and indie rock. He was born in Belgium and his music has a very distinguished international flare. The other headliner is Bongeziwe Mabandla, the genius that makes beautiful music by mixing african traditional music and urban folk. He first appeared on the map in 2012, and since has gone from strength to strength. He has been hailed as the new face of Afri-Folk.
