Cape Town winters are often cold, wet and windy. When the sun returns for the warmer months, we like to shake ourselves out of hibernation mode and head outside for some much-needed vitamin D. Tobago’s Restaurant and Bar has a sun-soaked terrace that will give you your fair share of this important mineral – while feeding you too! Every Sunday this spring and summer, the sophisticated eatery is serving a filling Sunday Lunch Buffet to treat friends, families and foodies.
Relax and recharge on the terrace at Tobago’s, with the calming sound of the ebb and flow of the ocean right there to wash your troubles away. Arrive at 12:30pm on a Sunday and the scent of sea will be infused with the deliciously rich, smoky smell of meat, roast potatoes and grilled vegetables as the lunch buffet gets underway.
Tobago’s Sunday Lunch Buffet kicks off with a cold selection of cheeses, toasted seeds and nuts, pickled fish, more than five different salads, soup of the day and a selection of breads. Bring a big appetite because the main course is a belly buster. Imagine a feast of succulent chicken, pork and beef at the carvery station – imagine, and then dig in! Traditional accompaniments like mashed potatoes, savoury rice and Yorkshire pudding will feature too.
As if that’s not enough, there are over seven different desserts to round off the meal, including some South African classics like milk tart, koeksisters and malva pudding.
Live music is on the menu too, completing the scene (and serenity) of this splendid Sunday afternoon out with your loved ones.
The extent, quality and diversity of this self-service spread is marvellous. Tobago’s chefs take ‘the buffet’ to a tremendous new level by combining both local and international culinary influences to present a buffet that offers something for everyone. By using only the freshest seasonal ingredients, this stylish but unpretentious eatery treats their guests to some of the finest dining along the Atlantic Seaboard.
PRICE AND BOOKING FOR TOBAGO’S SUNDAY LUNCH BUFFET
