Bring the Family: Free Stargazing Experience at the V&A

Astronomical Society offers high-powered telescopes for everyone to enjoy at the V&A Waterfront

A range of high-powered telescopes, with experts on hand. And it's free for everyone to enjoy. Bring the family to look at the moon close up, or try to spot some of the planets, galaxies and constellations.

The Cape Centre of the Astronomical Society of Southern Africa is unpacking a range of high-powered telescopes at the V&A Waterfront's Pierhead on Saturday 24 November 2018. And from 3pm to 9:30pm, you and yours are welcome to come and use them (weather permitting).

Proud history: The Cape Astronomical Society is the oldest in SA. It was formed in 1912

Learn more about our fascinating solar system at this free event. There will also be experts from the Astronomical Society on-hand, so you can learn more about our solar system and the cosmos right there at the V&A. Plus: Kids get to do experiments on the day and they get a free poster to take home.

This event is free to attend. Bring the whole family to learn more about the stars and celestial bodies.
