Local visionary and ultimate dinner party host Johnny Hamman is putting fresh spins on old classics at a Street Food secret supper at the Inner City Ideas Cartel (ICIC), a bespoke work and social space in Cape Town’s city centre. The unique feast is part of his Slippery Spoon pop-up restaurant series and takes place on Wednesday, 23 July 2014.
So what exactly does a street food dinner entail? Well, the wedding coordinator and ingenious cook has reimagined some of the Mother City finest guilty pleasures. Thus, guests can expect a fabulous five-course dinner featuring some of Cape Town‘s most iconic street grub, like bunny chow and gatsby sandwiches (read more about this legendary loaf), served with Johnny’s culinary twist. An added bonus is that dining in this chic, urban-inspired space will not only leave diners with full bellies but with happy spirits too.
A dinner with Slippery Spoon is, as the host puts it, “like going to the theatre, but getting fed at the same time.” So, thanks to the chef’s creative, carefree approach to curating pop-up dinners, you can get ready for an unforgettable night of entertainment.
