Surfing hot spots at the click of a Beach Watch button

The perfect excuse to ride Cape Town’s wave breaks

Beach Watch, an exciting new mobile application from iSee Software Solutions, promises to make finding Cape Town’s finest surf spots as easy as a click of a button.

In a city notorious for its temperamental climate, the free application will allow surfers to monitor surf conditions, using video streams for beaches throughout the Cape Peninsula and real time information, on-the-go.

CEO of iSEE Software Solutions, Johann Stegmann, believes that Beach Watch will revolutionise local surf culture, “The application will reduce the time and hassle of finding a wave and surfers may easily plan their water sports activities around the information provided by the Beach Watch service."

Beach Watch will work across a variety of handsets, enabling almost anybody to monitor camera feeds, strategically placed at all of the city’s top surfing hotspots including wave breaks, from Melkbosstrand to Kommetjie.

The Beach Watch surf cams are currently available in Cape Town and surrounds, but will be rolled out to other popular South African surfing destinations in the coming months. A custom-made iPhone application will be launched in the near future.
