The Secret Social Club involves bi-weekly meetups with the next event taking place on Friday, 29 January 2016 in a ‘warehouse wonderland’ at the ColorBox Studios in Paarden Eiland, just outside the city.

Expect blast-from-the-past-meets-back-to-the-future magic, with splendid singsongs, arcade games and food trucks at the Cape Town leg of an international network of events in party hotspots like Amsterdam and Berlin.

Retro is rad again at the Secret Social Club with über-cool classics like PacMan, Street Fighter, table tennis and foozball. In addition to the arcade alchemy a sultry selection of sounds is sure to get things moving on the dance floor. Hip hop, house, Nu-soul and disco are just some of the genres you’ll be hearing. And for when you need replenishment between the gaming and the dancing, there will be a number of food trucks serving up street-style sweet treats like toffee apples and brownies (not to mention the Candy House and drinks specials!). This month sees Pierre-Estienne, DJ Mighty, Reezo Hasson and Tulzy take to the floor to drop dope beats. 

So if you’re keen to be part of the Mother City’s hippest secret club then make sure you register on their website to receive exclusive details, passwords, discounts and more via email and SMS (yes, SMS is still a thing). Another benefit is that you don’t have to worry about driving as there are shuttles that run from various pick-up points in the CBD to and from the venue for a minimal fee.

At R40p/p for registered members (if you know the secret password, obviously) and R60p/p for non-members tickets are a steal. A single trip on the shuttle is R20p/p, while a return trip is R40p/p so be sure to get home safely with this convenient service.
