South Africa’s favourite festivals join forces for October 2017 event
Last Update 18 April 2017
Calling all Rocking The Daisies and OppiKoppi fans to prepare themselves to rock their koppi at these two festivals. The success of both events are evident in the thousands of attendees every year, with no signs of interest fading.
Steyn Entertainment made the announcement via the Rocking The Daisies Facebook page, with OppiKoppi announcing simultaneously on their Facebook page - the collaboration is already there it seems.
This year, Oppikoppi will take place on the same weekend as Rocking The Daisies - 5th to 8th October 2017- sharing the headlining acts for the weekend. This will mark a first in South African history where two promoters will work on a festival of this magnitude - promoting two “explosive festivals” irrespective on which event party-goes attend. The combined attendees are estimated to reach 45 000 fans.

OppiKoppi announced that the decision to collaborate was not a, “smallanyana decision”. They further stated that since the beginning of their own event 1994, they were much like, “adult kids” commenting on the growth of the festival and their shared excitement to now partner up with Rocking the Daisies 2017.
OppiKoppi stated that after conversations between the two teams, the collaboration comes as a joint venture with the aim to, “save tears and South African rands”, all while attempting to turn this into the aim of creating the “biggest single weekend of tunes on the Southern African music calendar!”
