Buttery croissants, fresh bread, tarts – plus it’s affordable
The breads at Paris Cape Town are baked fresh using a deck oven (not a rotary oven), as done for ages in France. This French pâtisserie in Sea Point has got everything from truly French croissants and freshly baked bread to Croque Monsieur, a variety of pastries, and more.

The restaurant, open till early afternoon, is scented by the aroma of freshly baked treats and pastries, all made by French chefs. There’s a variety of tarts too, and eclairs, Mille Feuille, and macaroons. What makes it extra sweet is the price. You can get an Apricot Flower, a flower-shaped pastry with a sweet apricot in the middle, for only R15.

The pâtisserie bakes everything from baguettes and breadsticks to ciabatta, rye and sourdough, with prices starting from R28.

Take a seat indoors or out on the terrace for lunch. The savoury selection won’t disappoint. The Croque Monsieur is a crowd favourite. A dish that originated in French cafés, it's a fancy version of a ham-and-cheese sandwich (there’s a salmon option). Quiche and toasties are also on the menu.
