Prime Circle Concert Tour
Mzansi’s favourite multi award-winning rock group heads to the Mother City this August to promote their new album!
After a scintillating unplugged tour across the Western Cape in August 2013, the local legends from Prime Circle are set to hit the Mother City again to promote their sixth and latest studio album, Let the Night In (2014), as part of their first ever arena tour. The nationwide showcase started in the Gauteng in June, and the Cape Town-leg of the circuit sounds off at the GrandWest Grand Arena on Women’s Day (Saturday, 9 August 2014).
The new album is the group’s first independently released effort and also features a distinct departure from their renowned rock style, with the title track incorporating interesting techno-based elements and many of the lyrics exploring more emotionally heavy content.
After years of playing at major music festivals both locally and abroad as well as performing at unique venues, like Centre for the Book, the band will for the very first time stage a national tour at big arenas in major cities.
“We’re all super amped about it. Audiences can expect an explosion of feeling and visuals – it’s going to be totally over the top. Each concert is going to be an event, rather than just a show,” says Ross Learmonth.
Fans can also expect the crowd favourites that have put the band on the map.
With over a decade in the industry, a cupboard full of awards and five super successful studio albums under their belts (showing longevity that’s quite rare for Mzansi’s musicians), Prime Circle is basically an institution in the South African rock scene, having paved the way for garages full of amateur musicians with a unique and distinctly local post-grunge alternative sound.
The guys are known for anthemic melodies, like ‘Hello’, ‘My Inspiration’ and ‘She Always Gets What She Wants’, that translate just as well in crowded stadiums as they do in intimate acoustic shows, and lead singer Ross Learmonth’s gravelly voice has caused many a girl to swoon over the years.
Though, the thing that sets Prime Circle apart from the rest is their ability to remain relevant and produce chart-topping hits and fan-favourites time and time again, and this latest release is yet another testament to their achievement.
Needless to say, Prime Circle is sure to give loyal fans an experience they’re not likely to forget!

The show starts at 8pm and Jesse Clegg will open for the Mzansi icons. The concert will run for an hour and a half with no interval.
