The Animal Anti-Cruelty League has been caring for souls of the animal variety since 1956. On Sunday, 4 June 2017, the AACL are hosting a fun-for-all charity walk at Vredenheim Wine Estate in the lovely wineland region of Stellenbosch.
On the day, guests will be treated to stunning scenery, goodie bags (if you pre-register), plenty of adorable dogs, a charitable benefactor and some good old fashioned exercise! The route will take you through the scenic estate, past winding vines and beautiful mountains with your faithful canine best friend by your side. To us, that sounds like a near perfect afternoon. The goodie-bags on offer are valued at over R300, and you can only get yourself one if you are one of the first one hundred participants to register online.
Once you’re done with the fun-walk around the estate, you can grab a bite to eat and something yummy for your bestie at the post event carnival type event. There will be fun activities for the kiddies, delicious food on offer, drinks-a-plenty, competitions and raffles. All of the proceeds of the Paws Thru the Vine charity walk will go directly to the Animal Anti-Cruelty League, to help fund their incredibly important work. Once you see all of the dogs that will be taking part in the walk, maybe you’ll be motivated to adopt one, and the AACL will be there to facilitate the process. Don’t panic, there is no obligation to adopt a dog at the event, but being surrounded by dogs may entice you to make one yours (there is even an adoption dog show). The organisation can also always use donations, so please head to their website for more info on how you can help - Aacl.co.za.
HOW TO ENTER THE 2017 PAWS THRU THE VINE AT VREDENHEIM WINE ESTATE IN STELLENBOSCH
You can choose to register online beforehand, which we recommend, or you can register on the day but you risk standing in queues and you won’t get a goodie bag. The pricing is different too. If you register online, an entrance for adult humans is R55p/p, for dogs is R35p/p, for children between five and 16 will cost R20p/p and those under five years old are free. To register online, please head to their website for more info - Aacl.co.za. If you choose to register on the day, please bare in mind that the cost to enter is slightly higher and you’ll have to get to the estate a little earlier; registration opens at 8:15am.
If you have any questions or queries, please contact the Animal Anti-Cruelty League directly by sending an email to info@aacl-ct.co.za.
