Decadent pastas, fried stewed beef balls, truffle lollipops and more at Scala
Last updated: 19 August 2022
Pasta bars are a trend around the world, including in Cape Town. In collaboration with Michelin star chef Luciano Monosilio, Scala Pasta Bar is bringing the textures and flavours from Rome to Heritage Square.

Scala is located across from Love Thy Neighbour by Iron Steak and Bar. Image: Scala Pasta Bar
From Monosilio’s famous Carbonara to truffle pasta lollipops and chicken ragu, it taps into authentic Italian textures and flavours, drawing from Monosilio’s restaurant in Rome. Plus, it makes one banging tiramisu that you have to crack open with a spoon.

Monosilio is known for being Carbonara King. Image: Scala Pasta Bar
All the pasta is made in-house with an imported charcoal oven from Italy. It has an open kitchen, so guests can watch the chefs prepare the food from the comfort of their tables. Scala is set to open on 15 September 2022. Subscribe to our newsletter to find out more about Scala
