November: La Motte Wine estate hosts wonderful classical concerts

On 12, 25 & 26 November 2005 La Motte Wine Estate in Franschhoek features a delightful variety of classical performances by local and international artists.

On 12, 25 & 26 November 2005 La Motte Wine Estate in Franschhoek features a delightful variety of classical performances by local and international artists. Those with a preference for the oboe, cello, choir works or even jazz may be wise to make a few inscriptions in their diaries.

The concert on 12 November will be in a lighter vein, with a performance by Cape Town's popular Lyric Piano Trio, consisting of Suzanne Swanepoel (violin), Peter Martens (cello) and Elna van der Merwe (piano). They will be supported by a number of Cape musicians in an interesting program including Bolling's Jazz Suite for Piano Trio, with double bass and percussion. A most entertaining menu of music is promised!

The season will be concluded with two performances, on 25 and 26 November, by the Coristi Allegro chamber choir conducted by Danie Smit. Music in the mood of the Festive Season will be included in the programme.

All the concerts are presented in La Motte's historical cellar with its tranquil atmosphere and excellent acoustics.

On their arrival, guests will be welcomed with a glass of wine. Each concert is concluded with a get-together where concertgoers can mingle with some of the artists, while enjoying La Motte wines served with light snacks.
