CONTENT INTERN

We are looking for: A social media savvy young person who is organised, eager to learn and wants to start a career at CapeTownMagazine.com. Who loves online content, especially social media and features. Who loves creating it and seeing it resonate with people. You have strong English writing skills and are a gifted storyteller and copywriter who wants to learn and grow. We're looking for someone who is steeped in Cape Town culture, and loves to explore the province. 

You should apply if: You live on Instagram and TikTok and are looking to embark on a permanent position at CapeTownMagazine.com. You want to learn, working under the guidance of seniors, and are organised and ambitious. You’ve done some writing and storytelling (on whatever platform) and want to grow these skills. Are excited by the idea of producing content that will be posted to 272 000 followers, and that’s only on Instagram. This is your perfect opportunity to help you start a career in online media and copywriting. 

Responsibilities: 

• Create and schedule social media posts to curate our feeds 

• Write features and overviews 

• Research, fact-check and update old features and overviews 

• Take part in content planning and pitch new ideas (what we call discoveries)

• Community management

• Pitches on our social media platforms 

• Create Reels and TikToks 

• Assist with feedback reports (capturing stats)

• Source photos and videos and edit it using image editing software

• Learn and master our content management and production systems

• Learn and incorporate Google ranking/SEO strategies

• Go on experiences

• Share your creative ideas on projects and campaigns

Duration: 6 months, with the chance for a permanent position. 

Stipend: R5 000 per month.
