ZIMFEST 08 Cape Town

South Africa's Biggest Bands are coming together to raise funds and awareness for the humanitarian efforts in Zimbabwe


There will be a collection of South Africa’s top bands, performing at the ‘one day & night only’ Zimfest 08, music festival on the 6 September 2008.

South Africa’s first fundraising music festival for Zimbabwe will be run by Overtone.

Zimfest 08 will feature leading performances from both South African and Zimbabwean artists including the likes Freshlyground, The Rudimentals and The Dirty Skirts.

The festival has even expanded to include a number of additional venues and bands in and around the city of Cape Town who wish to join ‘THE GREATER ZIMFEST 08’ in support of the cause.

Zimfest 08 ticket holders will able to qualify for discounts and benefits from these performances.

All of the proceeds of the Zimfest 08 will be used for humanitarian efforts for Zimbabwe.

There will be a minimum of R100 000 made from ticket sales alone and with additional sponsorship the amount will increase dramatically.

Zimfest 08 has selected PASSOP (People Against Suffering, Suppression, Oppression and Poverty as their primary beneficiary.

All the proceeds that are raised from the event will be donated to them. http://www.passop.co.za.
