Cape Town’s first focaccia sandwich bar

If you haven’t heard, Cape Town’s first focaccia sandwich bar has just opened. You’ll find it on Loop Street. Expect freshly-baked focaccia daily, high-quality Italian ingredients like real mozzarella, stracciatella, mortadella and prosciutto crudo, and a  co-working space with free wifi.

NEW TRENDY CAFÉ WITH A COWORKING SPACE 

The meats are straight from Italy, while the cheeses are sourced locally from Italian families. The bread, sauces and toppings are made in-house. The menu is simple with eight sandwiches like the truffle prosciutto crudo (prosciutto crudo, whipped truffle ricotta and shaved pecorino) and the marinated veg (marinated courgettes, ricotta, artichokes, olives, sun-dried tomato and rocket). 

Upstairs you’ll find the co-working space with free wifi. With the coffee offerings, it’s an ideal spot for a lunch break, a casual meeting or a work-from-café day.

The Focaccia Bar is open: Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm; Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 3pm
Cost: Sandwiches range from R85 to R175
