The 2018 LGBT Cape Peninsula Pageant returns this year on Friday, 15 June at Westend in Athlone. With the aim of nurturing a positive understanding of this form of expression, you can expect an event filled to the brim with pizzazz and flamboyance. Cape Town is well known for its large and proud gay community and this pageant is an opportunity for members to express themselves and show what they’re made of.

IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT THE GLITTER
The organisers of the LGBT Cape Peninsula Pageant invite those in the LGBT community as well as anyone who else who is keen for a new experience. They encourage everyone to come and see what the pageant is about and also find out what the community stands for. The aim of this organisation is to bring positive awareness to the Cape Town LGBT community.
They have curated a unique and intimate family space in which members of the Cape Town LGBT community feel safe and cared for. Just as important as this is the notion that members are proud of who they are and feel free to express themselves.

THE LINE-UP
Contestants will hit the stage and strut their stuff in three categories: Miss LGBT (drag queens and transgender ladies), Mr LGBT (gay/bisexual males) and Butch/Femme Lesbian LGBT. Winners will be crowned in a ceremony after the show.
